Two members of The Turbo Guy team recently took the opportunity to travel to China for Automechanika Shanghai. Our Managing Director, Allan, and our Stock and Production Planner, Kyle, visited Asia’s largest trade fair for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and accessories in December 2018.
The fair boasted an exhibition space of 350,000 sqm, had 150,568 visitors and had 6269 exhibitors.
Allan said “We’ve been buying some components from China over the last couple of years, but to make sure we get the quality we needed, we had to get out there and see it for ourselves. We found a wide range of qualities and prices, but now we know exactly where we can source parts at the quality we need, and more importantly who we will avoid. Our customers expect us to have done all the research and testing before we put our name to anything, so we have! The market is sceptical about cheap Chinese imports and we understand that, that’s why we’ve done the legwork.”
